Design Review
The Design Review Committee’s goal is to create and maintain an inviting atmosphere in the Gateway District through attractive window displays, building improvements, and infrastructure and streetscape enhancements. Design Review meets with new and existing businesses to guide through them through the ReStore and Landmarks processes. The Committee also encourages appropriate new construction in the area with long-term planning and neighborhood needs in mind.
Organization
The Organization Committee aims to maintain an active and representative board and a large volunteer base. The committee recruits new board members and volunteers with an active interest in our mission and district. The committee also organizes events and meetings.
Promotions
The Promotions Committee seeks to advocate for all of the great businesses, restaurants and resources that exist in the Gateway District, making it a great place to live, work, dine, shop, and visit. The committee organizes community and networking events, fundraisers and store opening ribbon cuttings. The committee also took the lead in designing this website, and works on social media campaigns to help our businesses grow their customer base.
Economic Development
The Economic Development Committee’s goal is to strengthen the community’s existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its economic base. The committee works to make existing businesses more competitive, to recruit compatible new businesses and uses to respond to district needs, and to reactivate underused or vacant commercial space.
